Professional Background
I became licensed as a New York State clinical psychologist in 1997 (License # 013222-01) and have been in private practice in New York City since January 1998.
My education started in Normandy, France, from first grade through college. Following college I attended Paris-X/Nanterre University, France, where I earned a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology, another one in Clinical Psychology, and a DESS (Diploma of Superior and Specialized Studies, i.e., graduate degree equivalent to a Psy.D.) in clinical psychology in 1980.
Following graduation I worked for about four years as a clinical psychologist in France. During this time, I earned a Certificate in Projective Psychological Testing from the University of Paris-V/La Sorbonne in 1981.
After moving to the United States in 1983 I returned to graduate school in order to practice again as a French/English bilingual psychologist. I attended the doctoral program at Long Island University in Brooklyn and earned my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 1996. I obtained my New York State license in 1997. I pursued psychoanalytic training and earned a Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy from New York University Postdoctoral Program in New York City in 2008.
In addition to my work in private practice, I consult to schools and day care centers on issues relevant to teachers and parents, and related to children's psychological, emotional, intellectual, social, and academic development. I also supervise the clinical work of doctoral students at Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY and Columbia University in New York City. I supervise privately as well.
